Paris sky is quite spectacular when there is Sun to make your cold days beautiful (even when it's chilly). See these 2 pics I took the other day [with only 2 minutes between them!]

Nearby is my dear Musée d'Orsay (ancient railways station transformed in the world's best impressionist  museum)

where --among many many superb paintings--  you can also see Olympia by Eduard Manet

          2 comments:

          1. It is a shame to cross out the Zandonai. Verismo it is not, more the overrripe late Romaticism at its most deliquescent.
You would hate the Del Monaco production I'm sure with setting and costumes more suited to an Oscar Wilde comedy and totally missing the brutal sadistic side of the scenes with the psychotic brothers.

The handling of the spear waving chorus was risible.
The old ladies , however, at the Sunday matinee applauded the scenery and Roberto il Bello when he made his first vocal entry in powder blue.

The cast is very fine especially Vassilieva, but Daniel Oren lingered too much over the Fin de Siecle beauties of the score while missing its overheated hot house excesses.
