David Mc Vicar [a.k.a. Mr. Hyperproductive] will complete his Ring in Strasbourg and that should be the most significant new event this month, together with an intriguing new opera in London produced by always profound and positively "weird" Richard Jones, as well as the new Guth-project that will be unveiled in Barcelona. More specifically,

New Rusalka, directed by Barrie Kosky in Berlin, could be great. Belcanto fans will be waiting for new Norma in Zurich with Elena Mosuc

Roberto Aronica will be singing Pollione in Norma, Zurich.
ReplyDeleteThanks SusieQ. That's a last minute change because even yesterday morning the OHZ website had Grigolo's name announced next to Pollione.
ReplyDeleteI guess Vittorio made a wise decision to postpone his role debut. Pollione is a tough cookie after which it is hard to go back to Des Grieux or the Duke.
Brenda Rae and Elza van den Heever - that should be good! Heidi Melton I am unfamiliar with.
ReplyDeleteJust back from Kosky's Rusalka: you were right, it was great!
ReplyDeleteHey Cloud! Long time no see!
ReplyDeleteI am green with jealousy :)
Hopefully I'll see that Rusalka sometimes later this year.
